- Anonymous Authentication: To maintain real-time socket connections for live audio and transcripts, our backend (Firebase Authentication) issues an anonymous, random device token. No email, name, or password is collected.
- Push Notifications (Optional): If you explicitly choose to enable public safety and emergency alerts, an anonymous Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) push token is generated by your device so our system can deliver breaking alerts. You can revoke notification permissions at any time in your device settings.
- Local Preferences: App settings such as audio volume, auto-play preference, and theme choices are stored locally on your device (using LocalStorage / IndexedDB).
- Public Radio Broadcasts: Audio streams and AI-generated transcripts provided in the app are derived strictly from publicly accessible first responder radio transmissions. No private user audio is recorded or captured.
3. How We Use Information
Any technical data processed is used exclusively to:
- Deliver real-time streaming audio and transcripts of public safety radio.
- Send urgent public safety notifications and weather warnings (if enabled by you).
- Maintain stream connectivity and monitor server health.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted infrastructure providers to operate the application:

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
5. Data Retention & Deletion
Because we do not store user accounts or personal profiles, there is no personal data profile maintained on our servers. You can reset all local app preferences and revoke push notification tokens at any time by clearing your browser/app storage or uninstalling the app.

Our application does not target children under the age of 13, nor do we knowingly collect any personal identifiable information from children.

Wayne Radio Scanner is not a 911 dispatch service. In any emergency, always call 911 immediately.
